Service Description

Targeted mobility training for athletes – with Laura Tight muscles? Limited range of motion? Recurring injuries? If you do sport of any kind, you’re bound to be familiar with all of these. The solution? Improve your mobility, which in turn will improve your athletic performance. Good mobility helps athletes move more efficiently and can improve sports technique and form. Mobility is also essential in everyday life, not just for sports, as it is important to our health, daily functioning and overall quality of life. Targeted mobility training, especially when combined with yoga, can greatly improve mobility and sports performance. The two can counteract the imbalances caused by the repetitive nature of training and can help both physically and mentally. They can help stretch and strengthen tight and fatigued muscles, increase mental concentration and endurance, improve mobility, flexibility and proprioception, prevent injuries, aid recovery and enhance breathing efficiency. What’s more, the passive mobility training postures get deep into the connective tissue allowing for real change to your range of movement. During this four-week course, you will: - explore a range of postures that target the main muscle groups used in popular sports in order to stretch and strengthen - work on long-hold, static postures to improve connective tissue elasticity - gain understanding about stretching and how to improve your mobility over time - learn nervous system techniques that deliver lasting mobility results - work on postures that will improve core strength, balance and proprioception - practise breathing techniques that can be used both in sports and everyday life - try guided meditations which can help focus the mind, especially before or after training and competitions. Targeted Mobility Training for athletes of all levels. Laura is an ultramarathon runner and triathlete. She is also an experienced yoga instructor and is trained in targeted mobility training, Hatha Vinyasa, breathwork and Hot 26&2. This course will run over 4 Saturdays - 19th, 26th October and 9th, 16th November. Time: 3.30 - 5pm.
