A mindful walk
A mindful spring walk. To be mindful is simply to be present in the moment, to focus only on what you are doing at that moment in time. In order to stay present and calm and not slip back into thinking /worrying mode, we can use an anchor or awareness - a point of focus we direct our mind to. To be in a state of 'being' rather than 'doing' can release us from the 'worry mind' and help us enjoy each moment.
It's so easy to get caught up in thinking and over thinking, completely missing the moment, missing life. So when you go for a walk, go for a walk, be it in the woods, the park, around the garden - just walk and keep your focus only on one thing. Mindfully placing one foot in front of the other.
Looking ahead but all the time listening and staying present. Then... of course the mind starts tugging at the sleeve... me me play with me! Why don't we make a list about this or plan that... NO! Learn to say no, even to your own mind. When I get back I will sit down with a coffee and make that plan, now I am walking.
If only for a short time - be present - be in the Now.
Moments
Less than a second
The universe was born
The stars we see so clearly
Seem only a little far
Almost touchable
But not quite
A seed breaks open
A new life
Moments
Here now
But briefly
